Talking to walls… NOT

I am not that sociable. It’s not me to act so much of a social butterfly, but what I do want when I talk to someone on the phone, especially if I’m needing help, is to feel that they know what they’re doing. 

It’s a kind of magic, actually. That liberating feeling where you could somehow see the clouds part above you, where, so suddenly, you’d see white pigeons flying while a choir of cherubims sings this angelic tune while they clasp their little baby hands together. Yeah, that bit when you’re having trouble, and after anxiously waiting, the first person that you talk to looked and sounded like they knew what they were doing. It’s that nice—until you realize that you’re probably holed up in your own home imagining babies with wings flying under the scalding sun. Still, that’s a nice thought. 

People value time. They never asked for their inconveniencies. A few of us would wish for the misfortune of others, sure, but I’m pretty sure that most  of us are not that insane to test fate. Please, don’t do that. The point is that everyone wants to get help, and the joy it would bring to aid those in trouble like a hero and be that hero is the same as eating that mouth-watering chicharon that’s flavorful, not too salty, and has this perfect satisfying crunch that makes it taste as though you’re eating a brittle piece of solidified meaty air. 

Having that crunchy goodness of customer service and being able to provide that kind of help is a must. That’s why I’m spoiling about an incoming free online course on Contact Center Services, developed by the Ugnayan ng Pahinungód, UP Open University (UPOU) in collaboration with the Office of Public Affairs (OPA), Multimedia Center (MC); and Concentrix-Philippines.

They know what they’re doing, and they can give you this training that could further develop your skills and earn you the connections you need for free. 

This Massive Open and Online Course (MOOC) would be available at UPOU’s official platform for MOOCs named the Massive Open Distance eLearning or MODeL. It’ll be available by May 1, 2021, so if you’re interested, you might as well sign up and create your account. Tons of other free courses are lying in there, waiting for you to take that first step.
