The month of July is National Resilience Month. This year’s theme is “Tamang Pamamahala’t Kahandaan, Kaalaman at Pagtutulungan sa Sakuna at Pandemya’y Kalasag ng Bayan.”
Filipinos are known to be resilient people. I guess this is because we are used to natural disasters considering that every year we experience numerous typhoons. But at this time of COVID-19 pandemic, being resilient means double the challenge. COVID-19 pandemic together with natural disasters like earthquakes means double the safety measure. Protecting oneself against COVID-19 and the unpredictable earthquake might be quite daunting but safety measures should be practiced by every individual. When an earthquake strikes, it is important to have a presence of mind. How are we going to protect ourselves from the earthquake and at the same time, making sure that we do not contract the virus? What are the steps? Here are some preparedness tips:
